Born at opposite ends of the 19th century, poet and writer Taras Shevchenko and dancer/choreographer Vasyl Avramenko both did much as champions of Ukrainian culture.  In the following video, Shevchenko's poem "My Friendly Epistle", with recitation by Oleh Ivanets (Ukrainian immigrant to the United States), is combined with important historic footage captured by Avramenko himself.  With this piece, Ken carries the artistic voice forward to continue the preservation of the culture that both Shevchenko and Avramenko were so passionate about.
